While conducting routine checks of businesses on Commerce Street, Yorktown Police say they observed a woman standing between a Honda Civic and a storage container with its door open behind the CVS building (2000 Commerce Street) on Saturday, Nov. 2 around 1 a.m.
The storage container, which was confirmed to belong to CVS, was filled with boxes similar to those inside the Civic, police say.
Officers approached the woman as she got into the driver’s seat of the vehicle.
Further investigation revealed that the woman, identified as Lindsey Calicchia, 21, of Yonkers, unlawfully entered the storage container, removed several boxes of merchandise and placed them in her vehicle without permission and without paying, police say.
The merchandise had a total value of approximately $747.27, according to police.
Calicchia was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, a Class D felony. She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
